About Robin

Robin Elkowitz is a seasoned corporate executive, whose career has focused on building  and leading in-house corporate governance teams for Fortune 500 companies and large  financial institutions. Robin has over 30 years of corporate governance and executive  leadership experience, working with CEOs, other C-suite executives and boards of  directors on a wide variety of corporate governance matters. Most recently, Robin served as  Executive Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Secretary of Citizens Financial  Group, Inc. (NYSE: CFG), building a fit-for-purpose corporate governance function from the  ground up in the lead-up to the company’s 2014 IPO and growing and adapting the function  over the 12 years that followed.  

Robin has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from The Wharton School,  University of Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude from New York University  School of Law. She also holds a CPA. 

As a corporate secretary and throughout her career, Robin has managed all aspects of the  corporate governance function for various institutions, including public company  compliance, stock exchange compliance, public disclosures and filings, board and  committee management, shareholder services and outreach, subsidiary management,  governance training and education, corporate governance support for in-house capital  actions, and management and execution of corporate governance aspects of mergers and  acquisitions.  

Corporate governance and eƯective corporate culture have always been top of mind for  Robin throughout her career and have guided her along her career path. Robin began her career as an associate at the Wall Street law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. While it was an important steppingstone in her career, she soon realized that the culture of a large law firm was not for her long term.
